Dareecha is a digital portal for schools implementing the Zero Suicide model. It offers screening, referral, and teletherapy with tailored interfaces for students, teachers, principals and therapists. It collects data throughout the adolescents’ care journey.
Pilot
PHC Global piloted the Zero Suicide Model in schools in Ghizer, Gilgit, a region marked by recurrent suicide rates. Implementation challenges made apparent the need for a digital portal to build an evidence base and institutionalize mental health support in schools.
Our priority was to thoughtfully simplify complex protocols for the portal’s multiple users: students, parents, teachers, therapists and administrators. Together with the Global Health team, we mapped a way forward.
Therapists in LMICs are not highly tech savvy and the protocol involves six forms with varying follow-up timelines.
Solutions

Adolescents are reliant on their caregivers. The design had to respect both confidentiality and inclusion.
